Masking is still Required for sick patients and their families. Masking is Optional for healthy non-infectious patients. We do recommend wearing a mask to protect yourself and others while in the office.
Dr. Bill Fournarakis, M.D.
I was drawn towards medicine because of a love of biology and a strong desire to help others. I specifically chose pediatrics because of my fondness for children, the great variety that each child brings because of their age and stage of development, and my earnest desire to positively impact my patient’s futures. I am privileged to be in a field where I help to improve illness, promote wellness, and provide our youth with some of the tools necessary to lead productive lives.
I have spent the last 1.5 decades working at four different outpatient clinics, providing compassionate and efficient care to a large variety of patients in urban, suburban, and rural communities throughout western Washington. My prior experiences have taught me the importance of effective communication tailored to each individual family and their unique cultural backgrounds, making sure to also involve the patient as developmentally appropriate. Prior to my outpatient positions, I had five years of experience working as a pediatric hospital doctor, assessing and treating very ill and medically complex children. My hospital experience confirmed with me the importance of always listening to parents, whose insight and intuition into their own children are invaluable in both the assessment and management of their children’s illnesses and concerns. I have also done volunteer medical mission work in both Uganda and Guatemala. The many children and families I encountered during this volunteer work provided me with genuine examples of humility, gratitude, patience, and perseverance to follow.
In addition to my love of pediatrics, I am also devoted to my family and local Greek community. I serve as a chanter at my church and teach byzantine chant. My other interests include gardening, travelling (especially to Greece), reading, and exercising. I am fluent in Greek and proficient in Spanish. I look forward to working with the youth and families of this diverse community.
